Merry Christmas!!

We just wanted to say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of our fans, friends, family and everyone else we know - we really appreciate the support you've all given us this year and hope 2012 will be another great year.  Onwards and upwards!!

Keep smiling and don't eat too many mince pies :)

Dave, Baz, Loz and Han xxxx

Definitely, Dave

We had another fantastic night at The Swan, Port Street, Evesham on Friday 9th December - what an excellent turn out (as usual) and a great crowd - we really enjoyed ourselves so thanks to everyone that came.

One special guest was in the audience that night - Howard Bentham from BBC Hereford and Worcester.  We had a chance to catch up with him after the gig and Dave was interviewed for the Breakfast Show which aired on Monday 12th December. You can hear the interview and Wooden Heart being played on the radio at the link below (be warned, link expires Monday 19th December 2011).  The interview starts about 20 mins in....prize for the best joke about wearing a skirt goes to Dave Hughes.  Definitely.

Work Starts on New Album!

We were in the studio last night laying down the guide tracks for the new album - the songs are sounding great and we think you're all going to love the new CD when it's released.  We'll obviously keep you updated as we go - next stop...drums!!

Just a quick note to let you know that the Wooden Heart EP is now available on iTunes! Grab a copy if you haven't already got one - and if you have, they make a lovely Christmas present too :)

Also, we're back in the studio next week starting the guide tracks for the new album - watch this space!

Launch Night and Meeting Will...

A big big big thank you to everyone who came along to the Wooden Heart EP launch at Amber Cafe on Friday night, it was a really great night with some excellent feedback from those who were there.  Wooden Heart was debuted on BBC Hereford and Worcester on the Introducing show on Friday night too, with some great response from the listeners, so all in all we are very chuffed indeed.  CDs sales have been going really well and if you haven't already got your copy then you can purchase them from Rapture and Pride in Evesham or shortly online via this website.  Alternatively, please contact mail@theirony.co.uk

We met with Will Clarke, designer of the EP cover,
last night and had a great time chatting with him in the studio. We are so pleased with the outcome of the CD and a massive thanks goes to Will for making it look so good for us - the guy is only 15 and we're sure you'll agree he's done a great job and is very talented!

Off the the printers...

The Wooden Heart EP is nearly here - it's currently being pressed and the cases being printed...how blummin' exciting!!!

Plans for the launch night at Amber on 28th October are coming together - we can now confirm that Rob Griffin will be supporting us on the night.  Make sure you come along as it's set to be a great evening.

We're also due to meet up with Will Clarke, winner of the EP design competition, to pass on his prize and have a nice chat and some photos with him so we're looking forward to that too.

We will, of course, keep you posted on everything that's going on so keep checking the website for all the news.

Sounding good...!

We listened to the mastered version of the EP in the studio on Wednesday night and it's sounding great - even if we do say so ourselves :)

Don't forget - the launch night is Friday 28th October at Amber Cafe, Evesham....be there or be square.

Wooden Heart EP Launch!

After a very long wait, The Irony are finally releasing their brand new 'Wooden Heart' EP. This is the first official recording of the current line-up and the much-anticipated follow up to the greatly received 'Ten Stories High' album.

To celebrate the release, The Irony are playing a special launch party at Amber Cafe, Evesham with support acts and special guests. This is set to be a great evening of music and is a must for all Irony fans and also a great way to introduce people to the band and their music. So come along, bring some friends and have a few drinks with some good music.

The EP will be available to purchase on the night.

See you there!

And we have a winner!!

Thank you to everyone who has entered the competition to design the cover for our upcoming Wooden Heart EP.  We have received lots of fantastic efforts and it was a real challenge to pick the winner.  The winning image really captured the essence of the EP, coming from Will Clarke of Besford.  Keep an eye on The Irony website as we will be putting the winning design for the EP on the homepage soon.  We are all very excited about the upcoming Wooden Heart EP, recording sessions have gone very well and it is shaping up very nicely.  It will be released later in the summer and details of the EP launch will be announced soon.

It's competition time!

Hey guys!

As you've probably already seen on the homepage, we're currently running a competition for people to design the cover of our forthcoming EP. We wanted to involve our fans and thought this would be the perfect way to do it.  Competition details on the homepage - either take part or pass the info onto someone that will! We're looking forward to seeing all of the ideas and can't wait to see (and hear) the finished product. Closing date for the competition is 31st July 2011.

The EP is currently at the mixing stage and sounding great. We've been working hard (alongside some special guests) and Hanna's been annoying everyone by taking photos every second of the way - they will be on the website soon so keep an eye out for them.

Next gig is at Amber this Friday (15th July) - join us for a special one-off acoustic set, supported by Ryan Corbett. After Amber we are playing The Railway on 23rd July and The Swan on 13th August.

Much love x

St-St-Studio!

Great news everyone - we're back in the studio!

Hooray!

Thanks to some great support and encouragement from those nearest and dearest, we've made it back into the studio and are currently in the middle of recording a four-track E.P. ...Quite frankly, we're loving every blumin' second of it.  We've already got drums, bass, piano and the guitars down so next stop is the vocals.  Things are really sounding great so far and we can't wait to hear the finished product (ooh, it's like the countdown to Christmas isn't it??!)  We've tried to put a mixture of songs on the E.P. so there should be something to appeal to everyone - full details of songs and the release date will be revealed soon and we'll keep you up to date with our progress via this blog :)

In the meantime, we may have a little surprise up our sleeve in the next week or so for the creative people amongst you - watch this space for a great way to get involved with the E.P.

Oh, The Irony...

Hey folks, just to let you know tickets for our gig at The Frog and Fiddle, Cheltenham on 1st July are now available to buy in our online shop.

Also, we've featured in the local press this month and an article about the band can be found on page 26 of the Vale Magazine.  Check it out!

We like a good Marrs Bar

Good gig at The Marrs Bar in Worcester last night - great music venue. (Did you know they did comedy nights there too?  Hanna didn't).  A big thanks to all that came along to support us.  Much appreciation to Koda and Ryan Corbett (I AM RYAN....no, really, I am) for joining us.

We'll be setting up a photo gallery for gig pictures so keep checking back to see new photos each time we play.

Next gig - 4th June at The Railway, Evesham. You heard it here first!

New Website!

Welcome to our new website!  This new home of all things to do with 'The Irony' has been created for us by Loz's brother, Russell Hancock  and we're really chuffed with the results - thanks Russ!  Russ's hard work means you can now view pictures of the band, listen to snippets of our songs, view details of our upcoming gigs and even buy merchandise and music from our online shop...how very posh.  It's all here - but if you have any suggestions on how to improve the site (or just want to say hi!) please drop us a message via the 'Contact' tab above.

We have a gig tomorrow at The Marrs Bar in Worcester and will be playing alongside Ryan Corbett and Koda .  Should be a good night and discounted tickets are available to fans of band - contact us for more details!

In other news we are due to release some new tracks very soon so keep checking back to the site for updates on our progress.  We have also been interviewed by the Vale Magazine and will be appearing in the next edition (June) so make sure you have a read of that (you could even cut it out and stick it on your fridge if you like).

More work is in the pipeline too and we'll be updating this blog regularly to make sure you're always the first to know what's going on the 'The Irony' world.

Until then - take care of yourself....and each other.

The Irony x
